Having a baby is indeed a wonderful experience for any woman. Indubitably all women put on weight during pregnancy and almost all would like to regain their pre-pregnancy shape as soon as possible. However, trying to lose weight fast may not be a good idea especially if you are breastfeeding. You have to give your body time to recover.
It is important to remember that every woman has her own metabolism and how much weight you will lose depends on the individual. Most probably your body will need about six months to return to normal. Remember that how much weight you lose depends on how much weight you gained during pregnancy.
It's better to focus on eating healthy food rather than on your weight loss. You will definitely need enough calories and nutrients to cope with your demanding baby. Even though a strict diet is out of the question there are a few things you could do in order to get back into shape! First of all replace foods which are high in fat, sugar, and calories with healthy snacks. Fresh fruits and vegetables can ease your hunger between meals!
No matter how busy you are with your new baby, now is a good time to begin a sensible exercise routine. After your first post-pregnancy check-up you can start gentle exercise at home. This can re-tone your muscles and build your stamina. You can consult an expert or get some guide from the internet in order to focus on exercises suitable for you. So take your time, begin with a gentle walk with your baby around the local park and enjoy your exercise.
